Bethell have gone through the whole of 2014 without a single reportable accident to the HSE (known as RIDDOR) and this is the second full year in succession that there have been no serious incidents.
Indeed, the last RIDDOR incident was back in July 2012. Our great safety record continues and is testament to the great success of our “THINK SAFE, ACT SAFE” campaign which kick-started our Behavioural Safety Programme when launched back in 2009.
Ian Madden, Bethell’s HSQE Director, commented “It’s great news to get through another calendar year without a single serious incident and this is thanks to our workforce who remain committed to going about their own daily tasks safely but above all, making sure that everybody around them is also working safely.
Our THINK SAFE, ACT SAFE campaign is a highly visible reminder to our own staff and our Supply Chain Partners that safety remains our number one priority. The behavioural safety programme is now over five years old and it is so pleasing to see a year-on-year improvements to our accident statistics throughout this period.”
