Here at Bethell, we strive to be at the forefront of excellence within the construction industry, using a continual investment in new systems and procedures to drive up our service levels.
We are proud to have attained the following nationally recognized awards in our field:
CECA North West Annual Awards 2025 – Social Value

Established in 2022 with an initial cohort of 4 students, Bethell’s 9-week-long work experience programme offers students a varied view of the industry.
Students rotate between different departments to develop on-the-job skills and experience, enhancing their classroom learning. Many T Level students have since returned to Bethell to continue their career journey, with past graduates now working full-time as quantity surveyors, site engineers and workshop management apprentices!
CECA North West Annual Awards 2025 – Highly Commended – Project of the Year (over £5m)

On behalf of client United Utilities, Bethell installed new screening at Openshaw Park to prevent unscreened storm spills into the River Roch.
This was achieved using Bethell’s in-house Shaft Sinking and Tunnelling team, which was established in 2023 and delivered its first successful tunnel drive and shaft sinking on the project. As of 2025, the park was reinstated by Bethell and is fully accessible to the public.
CECA North West Annual Awards 2025 – Highly Commended – Collaborative Partnership

The Highways Skills Training Academy was created in collaboration with Salford City College and the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG), providing a practical training environment for students to develop safe working practices and gain knowledge outside of the classroom.
As a result, we can address our industry’s growing skills gap by equipping students with knowledge and training to meet the future demands of our sector today.
CIHT North West Awards 2025 – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award

To meet the changing needs of our workforce, Bethell launched our new and improved People Strategy in 2021 to promote a sense of belonging and empowerment for every employee.
We evolved our strategy by supporting staff with initiatives in the office and site, such as training, the introduction of Mental Health First Aiders, flexible working policies and organising events like the Great Manchester Run. In addition, Bethell is addressing our sector’s skills gap by creating a bespoke training facility at Salford City College, in partnership with SCC Group and LCRIG.
CIHT North West Awards 2025 – Best Practice Award

The Best Practice Award was presented to Bethell, whose digital transformation journey took a significant step forward with the deployment of our Asite system, comprising a Common Data Environment (CDE) and Field Application.
Building on lessons learnt from our legacy system, Asite revolutionises our employee workflows and improves customer interactions by providing clients with real-time, accurate project information. In addition, Asite’s implementation within our business optimises resource allocation by reducing inefficiencies and supporting our business’ sustainability objectives.
CIHT North West Awards 2025 – Commended – Emerging Professional of the Year

Joe Hinchliffe and Gerard McCoy were each awarded a Commended Emerging Professional of the Year award, celebrating their contributions to Bethell and the wider industry.
Starting his career in construction with Bethell as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor in our surfacing division, Joe quickly demonstrated a natural aptitude and passion for the role, with Bethell enrolling Joe in a five-year degree apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying.
Gerard commenced his career at Bethell through a degree apprenticeship, completing a BSc in Quantity Surveying at the University of Salford and was fully supported by the business at every step of his journey.
CCS Bronze National Site Award 2025

At the National Site Awards ceremony in Manchester, the Considerate Constructors Scheme awarded Bethell and United Utilities with a Bronze Award in the £5m-£50m category.
Our Hoyles Lane Capital Delivery scheme was initially nominated following a 100% score in a CCS audit, as well as for showing care and consideration for local residents and affected stakeholders, volunteering to tidy up a local school and implementing sustainable practices on-site. This award recognises Bethell’s excellence in considerate construction and how we put the customer at the heart of everything we do.
The University of Salford Engineering Apprentice of the Year 2025

Trainee Site Engineer Mueen Uddin received the Engineering Apprentice of the Year Award from The University of Salford at their Apprenticeship Awards evening at the Etihad Stadium!
Initially joining Bethell for a 9-week T Level work experience placement, Mueen chose to return to Bethell as an apprentice studying at Salford University and has further expanded his skillset with a particular interest in tunnelling following his experience as part of the Bethell Team at a Capital Delivery scheme in Bury, working on behalf of United Utilities.
