We’re proud to announce that our University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) scheme has won the prestigious Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) “Project of the Year” 2022 Award for the North-West region!

We were honoured to receive the award for “Project of the Year”, which is awarded to projects that are outstanding examples of providing value and mobility to local communities within the North West. Our UCLan scheme picked up the award thanks to our work providing a vibrant space for both the student and wider Preston community, whilst working within complex logistics and numerous stakeholder interests to ensure minimal disruption to traffic and residents.

It was great to attend the Awards Dinner at the Park Royal Hotel in Warrington after these events being suspended for 2 years. Even better to receive 2 fantastic awards on the evening. This is a real testament to all our loyal, hard working, safety driven and total committed staff and direct workforce. Keep up the great work everybody – roll on next year and further award recognition!”

Our Award

We were presented the award at the CIHT Awards ceremony held at the Park Royal Hotel in Warrington. In total, Bethell were nominated for 6 awards on the night, from 6 submissions.

This project played a key role in creating safer and more efficient high-quality road & pedestrian walkways throughout the campus. Outstandingly, our site had experienced zero health & safety breaches, even as we faced the hard-hitting coronavirus pandemic.”
