Bethell complete critical bridge job 4 weeks early!

A666 St Peter’s Way Bridgeworks finished almost four weeks ahead of schedule

Closing lanes on the A666 is always controversial but when essential structural maintenance work to one of the main bridges needed to be carried out, there was no alternative as Raikes Lane Bridge required complete scaffolding encapsulation over three work phases. However, Bethell have managed to smash the agreed 10 week construction period and hand back the highway to the client four weeks early which was a huge bonus to the thousands of commuters who use the dual carriageway on a daily basis.

Cllr David Chadwick, Bolton Council’s member for transport, said he is “thrilled to bits” that the work has been completed so quickly. “I am just so pleased that our contractor, Bethell, has been able to finish this phase of work almost four weeks early.
