Hoylake Station Park & Ride

Bethell won the competitive tender for the construction of a 137 space car park adjacent to Hoylake Station.

The scheme also involved a 1 kilometre long 4.0m wide combined bridleway/cycleway which connected the car park and station with the nearby town centre.

The car park construction consisted of 1,700m2 of bituminous road pavement and approximately 1,000 m2 of bituminous footway.

The project also involved the installation of a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS). The ‘green’ drainage system involved a free draining sub-base material enveloped in geotextiles. The parking bays were construted above the free draining sub-base and were constructed utilising over 1,800m2 of permeable block paving.

Approximately 850m of new pre-cast concrete kerbing, 2,000m of timber edging and 300m of pre-cast concrete edging, were also installed as part of the project.

Other ancillary works included perimeter fencing, the provision of street lighting, vehicle barriers, new signage and road marking.
