Hoylake Station Park & Ride

Bethell won the competitive tender for the construction of a 137 space car park adjacent to Hoylake Station.

The scheme also involved a 1 kilometre long 4.0m wide combined bridleway/cycleway which connected the car park and station with the nearby town centre.

The car park construction consisted of 1,700m² of bituminous road pavement and approximately 1,000 m² of bituminous footway.

The project also involved the installation of a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS). The ‘green’ drainage system involved a free draining sub-base material enveloped in geotextiles. The parking bays were construted above the free draining sub-base and were constructed utilising over 1,800m² of permeable block paving.

Approximately 850m of new pre-cast concrete kerbing, 2,000m of timber edging and 300m of pre-cast concrete edging, were also installed as part of the project.

Other ancillary works included perimeter fencing, the provision of street lighting, vehicle barriers, new signage and road marking.
