Pimhole CSO

In conjunction with works being delivered for client United Utilities at Openshaw Park, Bethell was also instructed to construct a new reinforced concrete CSO chamber in Pimhole Business Park, Bury.

260m of 750mm PCC pipe was installed at a depth of 3.58m, which ran from a local business's car park underneath the East Lancashire Railway to the Roch Valley Greenway, connecting to an outfall into the River Roch.

A precast concrete outfall structure was installed where the water from the CSO will dispense into the River Roch. 4 no. 2.4-diameter manholes were installed along the route with depths varying from 4.5m to 2.3m.

A haul road was constructed along Roch Valley Greenway to provide access to the new CSO, which will replace an existing CSO situated in the area.
