Radcliffe Bus Station
A spacious, modern transport hub within Radcliffe town centre designed to replace the existing facility and be the first in a number of publicly funded projects to kick start the revitalisation of the town centre.
This fast track scheme consisted of four main components: extensive new underground infrastructure for drainage, power and lighting; public realm enhancements comprising bespoke hard and soft landscaping; bus waiting shelters, linking canopy and street furniture; public highway works to reconfigure the traffic flows in Radcliffe town centre.
Specialist works involved the design and installation of LED lighting to bespoke handrails and pedestrian crossing points, the installation of a state-of-the-art CCTV security system and the design, manufacture and installation of high quality bus waiting shelters.
Civil works included the construction of over 1,400m2 of pavement quality concrete to bus lanes and bus lay-bys, brick-clad retaining walls and structural foundations for bus waiting shelters. Over 1500m2 of high-quality paving was laid in the public realm area together with stepped seating areas and soft landscaping.
