Celebrating 30 Years Service

Bethell Construction Managing Director, Vinny O’Dowd, has reached a landmark career achievement of 30 years’ continuous service. Vinny began his career with Wimpey UK before joining the Kilroe Group in 1986 as a site engineer and progressed into project management overseeing a number of infrastructure projects throughout the UK. Vinny moved across to the Bethell business in 1992, a year after the company was acquired by the Kilroe Group. Vinny was one of a small group of employees that then moved across to Bethell, under a transfer undertaking, in 1993 following a management buyout.

Under the Bethell banner Vinny progressively moved up through the ranks, serving as Operations Director and Chief Estimator for a number of years before being appointed Managing Director in 2010.

Bethell Group Managing Director Tim Kilroe presented Vinny O’Dowd with a long service award plaque to commemorate the occasion at a recent board meeting, commenting “Vinny has been an exemplary employee over his 30 years. He has been very loyal, hardworking and a committed individual as well as a pleasure to work alongside. On behalf of all the staff and Board of Directors we would like to express a huge thank you and we look forward to many more successful years”.

Vinny O’Dowd, in response, said that he had thoroughly enjoyed his time at Bethell “working for a company with such diverse interests has always ensured that there’s never been a dull moment but most of all, it’s working with a team of first- class colleagues that’s reinforced my commitment to remain with Bethell and continue our success story”.
