We have picked up our second contract award on the St Mary’s Way/ Newbridge Lane Junction in Stockport Town Centre.
The latest scheme involves widening the existing road bridge, Captain’s Bridge, that spans the River Goyt to provide an additional traffic lane for northbound traffic. Work on the 33m span bridge is scheduled to commence in June and the £1.35m project will take 11 months to complete. Work is already underway on a £0.6m contiguous- piled retaining wall scheme on the far side of Newbridge Lane to provide additional capacity for traffic approaching the widened bridge.
