Removing
tonnes of CO₂E for every electric car and van.
Bethell will work towards reducing our carbon footprint to a minimum by enabling and supporting low carbon work practices.
As an organisation, Bethell’s ambition is to become carbon net zero by 2050.
To achieve this target, we operate in an environmentally responsible manner and do everything reasonably practicable to minimise the impact of our works on the environment.
Bethell has adopted and developed acceptable sustainable practices to mitigate harm to the environment and these sustainable construction methods are accredited under BS EN ISO 14001:2015.
We work closely with all stakeholders to investigate positive steps to avoid environmental damage such as the selection of sustainable materials, recycling materials, avoidance of air and noise pollution and reducing the carbon footprint of material deliveries.
Bethell is currently working towards meeting the PAS 2080 (Carbon in buildings and infrastructure) standard.

We had our net-zero targets independently validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), joining over 5000 companies and financial institutions in taking vital steps to help deliver a net-zero economy.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.
We achieved a
reduction in carbon since our 2020 baseline year.
Commited to delivering a 42% reduction for Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 2030.
Committed to measuring and reducing our Scope 3 emissions.
Bethell uses SmartCarbon’s monitoring tools and software to monitor and analyse our real-time carbon emissions data.
SmartCarbon’s tools measure energy usage, fuel consumption and other relevant parameters to assist Bethell in reducing our organisation’s carbon emissions.
