We have been successful in securing two new Frameworks for maintaining UU’s wastewater network.
The first Framework (Lot 6) covers routine small civil engineering works and the second Framework (Lot 9) is for larger, more complex schemes.
The Frameworks commenced on 1st April and will last for an initial period of 6 years, following which there is an option to extend for a further 5 years. This will provide an excellent opportunity to provide a sustained work source for our staff and help us recruit and train young people into our industry.
The new contracts provide a welcome return for us into the sewer maintenance sector having been a major Framework partner to UU during the period 1995-2005.
The works include sewer diversions, sewer repairs, manhole replacement, flood mitigation works and foul water connections to new developments. The new contracts cover the whole of the UU region from Cumbria in the North all the way down to Cheshire in the South.
On Friday, at the Construction Apprenticeship Awards, Bethell was honoured to take home the Construction Apprenticeship Medium/Large Employer of the Year award, a testimony to our commitment to growing our own talent and investing in apprenticeships.
