What Will The Role Involve?
As one of our Quantity Surveyors, you will provide the necessary contractual and commercial expertise, supporting the site team and others alike from pre, through to post construction. You’ll ensure that value is maximised, risks are mitigated and cashflow is maintained. In this role, you will support the management of key strategy deliverables whilst ensuring compliance with all commercial procedures and reporting requirements.
You’ll meet all procurement deliverables through effective supply chain communication management and analysis whilst working with various members of the team to ensure reporting deadlines are achieved and targets are met. You’ll take the lead role for the management, procurement and implementation of subcontractors and liaise regularly with external stakeholders and clients to ensure best commercial outcomes are achieved on all projects through the correct application and administration of the contract. You’ll also be expected to aid and assist trainee / assistant QS’s where possible.
We’re looking for someone who can maintain standards of professional practice and appropriately manage their time, by recognising internal and external demands – this could include cost reporting, subcontract procurement, management and payment and contract administration (pre & post).
What Key Skills & Experience Are We Looking For?
- Degree or 5+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying
- CSCS Accreditation
- Experience on various civils, drainage, groundworks, concreting, 278, minor building projects
- Full EU Driving Licence
- Sound commercial understanding and can demonstrate the ability to maximise value and effective cash management, through good understanding of contracts terms and conditions
- Understanding of SF’s of contracts, JCT, NEC, ICE
- Awareness of insurance requirements, including third party agreements (Warranties/Bodies/PCG)
- Ability to interrogate tender information and analysis
- Member of professional body, RICS, CICES, ICE or similar
