Abbey House Hotel & Gardens

Abbey House is a 4-star luxury hotel and events venue situated in the Lake District, Cumbria. In partnership with rapid EV charging infrastructure provider Be.EV, Bethell Utility Services delivered 5 dual chargers on-site for the client, feeding into 10 bays.

This project required the design and installation of a full turn-key solution, to provide rapid EV charging points on-site. As Abbey House Hotel & Gardens is situated within a Grade 2 listed building, the success of the scheme required close collaboration between Bethell and Historic England, due to the site being of historic interest, involving careful liaison with all relevant planning and archaeological stakeholders.

In total, the scope of works included:

• New substation build and installation 
• LV/HV installation 
• Install of MATT-E device 
• Surge protection installation 
• Internal & external cabling 
• Trough works 
• Reinstatement 
• Installation of vehicle stops 
• Electrical testing 
• Installation and commissioning of charging units 

This will be the first installation carried out by Bethell Utility Services, as part of our framework agreement with Be.EV to deliver more than 1,000 chargers and charging hubs across the UK.
