How Bethell and Wood Street Mission are keeping families warm this winter!

Collection of donated coats for winter charity appeal

Wood Street Mission are one of the 3 nominated charities that our Bethell participants ran to raise money for back in July for the Wilmslow 10k, who aim to improve the life chances for families and children who are on a low-income in the Manchester & Salford area.

As a result of the proceeds raised by Bethell, Wood Street Mission have been able to procure a supply of 500 brand-new, quality winter coats for families this winter as part of their “Winter Coat Campaign”. With many struggling to budget for the essentials this winter, it’s an expense that families can often struggle to accommodate for.

Without a coat, children arrive at school cold and wet, which does not set them up ready to learn, impacting on their education and future. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Bethell, Wood Street Mission can ensure that 500 children in our local community can be protected from the winter weather, and are ready to learn and get the most out of their education.
