Read moreWe are pleased to welcome five new entrants onto our long-established apprenticeship scheme which this year celebrated its 10th anniversary. The five newcomers from Bolton and the surrounding area will attend college on a weekly day release over a two year period to attain their NVQ2 qualification and, if they desire, they can then decide to take up the option of obtaining their NVQ3 qualification. For the past two years there has been a special emphasis on enrolling locally-based youths to support our Highways Framework Partnership with Bolton Council which fulfils our pledge to provide local employment opportunities. Vinny O’Dowd, Managing Director, declared “our apprenticeship programme is vital in ensuring that we are adequately prepared for future skills shortages whilst at the same time supporting the local community. Over the past ten years the programme has produced some outstanding tradesmen who are now amongst some of our most highly skilled and respected employees”.
