Bethell awarded RoSPA President’s Health and Safety award for 13th year running!
For the 13th year in a row, Bethell Group has been awarded the RoSPA President’s Health and Safety Award!
The 2023 President Award recognises Bethell’s 13th consecutive year of an industry-leading approach to health and safety, represented by our “Work Safe Home Safe” ethos, in addition to ongoing initiatives such as hazard spotting campaigns, regular Safety Stand Down Days and the introduction of our brand new site-focused Safety Champions.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK. Now into its 67th year, the Awards receive almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and a reach of over seven million employees. The programme recognises organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work, looking at entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Martin Burke, Senior HSQE Manager at Bethell Group, commented on the award, saying: “I am delighted we have been awarded the prestigious RoSPA President’s Award, which means we have now received 13 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards for Health and Safety, and I also wish to pass on congratulations and thanks to all Bethell staff and our supply chain partners for helping us maintain this fantastic standard. It remains vital that we do not allow complacency to conflict with our continually high safety standards, and whenever safety incidents occur, we have to ensure root causes are investigated so we can learn from these and action any improvements required, whilst sharing across the industry.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption – they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That’s why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded. We are thrilled that Bethell Group has won a RoSPA Award and would like to congratulate them on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees, clients and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”
