Bethell donates books to help rebuild Bolton fire-damaged school!

As part of our social value commitments, Bethell donated 100 children’s books for SS Simon & Jude’s CE Primary School in Great Lever, which was badly damaged in a fire earlier this month.

These books will go towards rebuilding the school’s library, ensuring that students returning in the new school year can continue their education and discover the joy of reading.

On Thursday 17th August, a fire resulted in severe damage to the school’s facilities, resulting in the loss of all their resources. Therefore, SS Simon & Jude’s CE Primary School urgently appealed to the local community for book donations to help rebuild their cherished library ahead of the new school year.

The value that books provide for young minds, as well as restoring a sense of normality for so many students whose educations have suddenly been put on hold, inspired Bethell to reach out and contribute towards the library.

From the team at Bethell, thank you to Vantage Academy Trust for helping make this happen. As of writing, the school is still accepting donations of new children’s books, so please contact Sarah Rothwell if you’re able to contribute. Alternatively, you can send any book donations to St Augustine’s CE Primary School in Pendlebury, Manchester.
