Promoting award-winning talent in the construction industry!
At this year’s CIHT North West Awards evening, we were honoured when Victoria Derbyshire, Quality and Compliance Manager at Bethell, was awarded the Emerging Professional award for her dedication to her profession and for demonstrating outstanding excellence in the sector.
Victoria joined Bethell as our Quality and Compliance Manager in June 2021, following four years of working in the highly-regulated nuclear industry, where she had completed her apprenticeship in quality management whilst working as a Quality Improvement Engineer.
Demonstrating her commitment to her profession, she achieved chartered status in 2022, being appointed as a member of the board of trustees at the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) at the age of 22. Victoria is now studying towards her Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Management, planning to utilise the knowledge and experience to accelerate her understanding of business management and develop her leadership skills for future career development.
Recognised for her leadership and dedication to her profession in the civils industry, Victoria has been leading the implementation of the Company’s Geopal platform, transforming the way that data in the business is captured, recorded and analysed through completely paperless technology. Consistently advocating the use of digital technology, Victoria worked collaboratively with all areas of the business to custom-build the bespoke system.
Now leading Bethell’s quality department, Victoria manages and mentors a team of quality professionals, supporting her across multiple sites, in anticipation of our growth plans to expand operations throughout the North West, Yorkshire and beyond!
As an organisation, we are extremely proud of Victoria’s achievements to date and we look forward to supporting her in the next steps of her journey as a quality professional in the construction industry. Victoria has consistently showcased her enthusiasm and ambition in ensuring governance remains in line with Bethell’s strategic objectives, alongside the development of assurance systems to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Bethell is pleased to share that the Considerate Constructors Scheme ("CCS") has rated our Hoyles Lane Major Capital Project scheme as Excellent in all 3 categories, awarding us full marks in every category!
