Bethell takes delivery of our first vacuum excavator!
Bethell’s first vacuum excavator (Vac Ex) has been delivered and is available for use on our various civils and utilities schemes across the North-West.
Vac Ex machines provide a safer and lower-risk alternative when excavating in close proximity to “live” underground utilities – aiming to eliminate the hazard of utility strikes and reduce noise disruption to neighbouring areas.
Compared with other excavating methods, Vac Ex machines are safer, create less dust and eliminate excess spoil, therefore reducing air pollution. For our clients, these units provide higher efficiency, delivering timely excavation at a lower cost.
As part of our “Work Safe Home Safe” initiatives, we are hiring in more of these units for clients who are managing controlled environments, making the use of this equipment mandatory.
Matthew Burke, Head of Plant and Transport Operations at Bethell, commented that he expects to place an order for another unit by the end of 2024.
